A nice walk along the beach from our resort to these rocks was my hiding place for that week. I would go there morning and evening and I would take my bible and I would read and I would pray. I would watch the water as it hit the rocks and the foam and the waves would just crash and white foamy water would splash above me. Across the water in the distance I could see Saint John. I always wanted to take that little excursion over there, but it seemed pretty costly to go that short distance. But I think about what Jesus said "upon this rock I will build my church". That was ringing through my ears as I was painting the scene. I love this painting, maybe just because it has an emotional connection with me. This one is number 14 of the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.</div><br> <br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08723362838503942288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4705002501738257984.post-16635265670086270142017-01-13T17:41:00.000-08:002017-01-13T17:47:40.452-08:00Holy Worship<div style="text-align: center;"><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPfcFhycAoZ7JozGHeexW1IZmkrQ9aQPluRWTIkvhLLYrLJOHRCsVHuEYNiZ73qC-wm3WB3j8YJ-2rhCs6hQYcGUdhqd7Z8Ljt1MUxzic5-YMikbD00QbQrgLe129dY1zVOC_Y0U_4nQst/I/photo_269031.jpg" border="0" class="bloggoimg"></div>Holy Worship</div><div style="text-align: center;">6"x6"</div><div style="text-align: center;">Available</div><div style="text-align: center;">Oil and cold wax</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">We had a night of worship the other night. All of a sudden, I have found hope again for this area of my life. This painting is oil and cold wax, and is number 12 in the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. It's kind of crazy to think that the challenge is almost half over. I think after number 15 I will go back to another style much more controlled. As I was painting on this piece today for the 30 and 30 challenge for January, I began adding some more layers of paint, and turned the painting and immediately I saw what looks like an image of a fish. I love it when something appears like that unexpectedly. So I begin to contemplate. I began to meditate and I began to wonder what to do with this fish. Our sermon series at church this month is so therapy. So isn't it fitting that Matthew 419 is just perfect for this painting? Not to mention that I love to dive and have seen many creatures as beautiful and colorful as this one. I hope you enjoy it.</div><br> Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08723362838503942288noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4705002501738257984.post-36685064766418672182017-01-04T18:12:00.000-08:002017-01-04T18:27:21.315-08:00Full Yield<div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhosIZ2PCQLeJ-Yj_2N2kt3FE08tu8-rJQtAme0yJgev4SMIP1mJL0vv6GEjM-BNZdqBKzOBgqupVh-ZFL1UwL0fNLytLZvAgfZ-IfrVcnU-ppkZo3VjPwgBPgzvHfjZ9LYRT_8qb-3nLUb/I/photo_619368.jpg" border="0" class="bloggoimg"></div><div style="text-align: center;">"153"</div><div style="text-align: center;">Oil and Cold Wax</div><div style="text-align: left;"> I'm loving playing with new colors and layers. We all need to give back a little... Uganda, Africa gave me so much the three years that I traveled there. The heart of those people taught me so much. The Spirit of God that reigns in people is so powerful, and resonates in my soul. I'm doing this 16x20 watercolor in order to donate to raise funds for the children of Uganda. Last year, my painting brought a nice amount of money, and I'm believing this one will, too. I'll update the progress throughout the week.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08723362838503942288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4705002501738257984.post-63443664774535221662016-09-06T17:35:00.000-07:002016-09-06T17:35:47.430-07:00Worshiper<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
I've been commissioned to paint a memorial type painting for a young woman that lost her baby. I've been seeking the Lord for a couple of weeks, mulling it over in my mind. The woman's sister in law (who commissioned me), mentioned that when she would see a Cardinal, she would be reminded of her baby. Somehow, I knew the cardinal had to be in the painting, but I just couldn't feel peace about painting a pretty little cardinal eating out of a bird feeder or sitting on the fence. Yesterday, the Lord showed me that this baby, in full Spirit is worshiping the King of Kings with fullness, joy, and wild abandon. I could just see Creed fulfilling his purpose in heaven. It doesn't help with the loss and pain, but it does help knowing that he really is in the arms of Jesus. I was just reminded this morning (after painting yesterday), that the scripture that this momma has held dear to her heart, is I Samuel 1:27-28. I read it this morning, and was blessed beyond measure...that, "I heard from the Lord", because it reads...."And he worshiped the Lord there." Stay tuned, as it's not quite finished. Although I saw this 30 in 30 challenge coming, there's just not much I can do about it. I've started a new job, flying pipeline patrol. The days are pretty long and very "high alert-ish". I'll be painting on my days off only, cut at least it's something. I did this one on Sunday, during worship. It sold before I could finish it. I've learned...when they want it, let it go! </div>

This was painted during live worship at Emmanuel Fellowship church. Normally, I don't know what I'm going to paint ahead of time, but this time I did. I had been doing a study of "overflow" and had done a couple of small paintings. I had a "feeling" of what I was being led to do, but could't come up with the composition. Just as I went to bed the night before, I asked the Lord to just show me. It was instantly downloaded into me, and here it is! He baptizes us with fire and water, and He gives us a cup and a portion, and draws our boundary lines. Amen. Available. No frame needed.</span></div>

A day off, and my morning walk inspired me to paint these beauties today. I love to worship Jesus, singing and praying as I walk. The fragrant field of bluebonnets sent a calmness and peace over me. I couldn't help but be reminded that there is no sense is worrying about anything. This visual reminder of how my Father in Heaven artistically created these fields of fragrant beauty, awakened His Word in me.</div>

The procedure that I used for this painting was to paint from life, not a photo. I took a workshop last year from Nancy Medina. She does all of her paintings from life, and I gleaned what I could from her. I love Texas wildflowers and old blue bell jars. What about you? </div>

After completing the 30 Paintings in 30 Days it almost felt just flat wrong not to continue. I did have to take some time to figure taxes, housework, etc., so I took a few days off and didn't enjoy even a minute of it. I love painting, no matter the medium. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We're all on a journey, aren't we? Some have a long way to go. Some have come a long way. Each looks different, and we can't really compare them. The face remains faceless and is nameless because it's all of us. Where are you on your journey? Are you looking back with regret, or looking forward with HOPE? I know from experience that the looking back only keeps you in captivity within your own heart, but looking forward with the One that wants good things for you, is full of hope. I plan to have lots of those days ahead in my journey. What about you?</div>

This is Marley. She's my little travel companion. She's my little studio assistant; I have 3 others. For those of you that are dog lovers, you know that each and every one of them are so different and so full of joy. They just bring me joy! I can't imagine life without them. This one and me had to make a little road trip. My elderly parents were a little lonesome, and needed to be checked on. Plus, you see...she came in "heat", and that didn't work so well with a Great Dane male, and another large male! Talk about making your life miserable! Geez! It was good that I had this little trip planned. THAT won't happen again, let me assure you! Days are never dull in the life of this worship artist! Stay tuned!</div>

<br />
This is the collection of my 30 paintings done in January 2016! Yes! A painting a day! Sometimes I did two a day, for those days that I knew I would be out. Some were worked on for multiple days. I didn't have a theme this year. What I wanted to do, was to experiment, and to do a few animals just for practice, which I did. The ape family paintings were all done using a different method of watercolor. There is a mix of watercolor, oil, and alcohol ink, and oh yes; one acrylic. I've had a blast, feel that I'm improved and am looking forward to continuing on. The next challenge that I do, I think I'll stick to one subject matter. We will see. Hope you've enjoyed stopping by! I'd love a to know which are your favorites.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08723362838503942288noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4705002501738257984.post-90090166592079139812016-01-30T17:13:00.001-08:002016-01-30T17:13:47.110-08:00Teeming with Life<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I can say, these coral columns look like this! I'm always amazed at the colors that are so vibrant when the sun peeks through and shines through the crystal clear Cozumel waters. I've been painting up a storm today. I'm reworking a painting and thought I'd post it for my #29 of the 30 in 30, just because the REAL painting that I'm working on is a commission, and I can't let the secret out. It's turning out really well, so far. You'll just need to wait on seeing that one.</div>

Three more days to go in the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...It's been so much fun, and I hate to see it come to an end. However, I will be glad to breathe if I need to. I'm not one to live on challenges, but if I commit to it, I will see it through to the end, no matter what. I hope to continue daily painting, but to also add in my quiet time prior to painting. I hope I can coordinate the two with the time I have. So many times, other things get in the way of having that kind of a chunk of time. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I just booked our diving trips for 2016. I guess I had the ocean on my mind. </div>

It's easy to </span></span><span style="color: #23221f; font-family: Open Sans, Arial, Century gothic, sans-serif;">criticize him when you're in the boat.
