Full Bloom

"Full Bloom"
16"x20" Acrylic on Canvas
Contact me for Purchasing Information

This is number 6 of the 30 paintings in 30 days.  I worked on it several days, experimenting with high gloss gel and transparent acrylic applied with a palette knife.  It has quite a few layers on transparent on top of transparent, and finally a spattering of opaque acrylic ink.  It was fun, and kind of "Georgia O'Keefe style.  I'm working on several paintings daily in order to keep up with this challenge.  I guess if I would paint very small and very simple, I could do one per day.  But, no.  I have to work large.  I guess the whole idea is to paint daily, not necessarily finish one daily.  I refuse to let it beat me, though.  Hope you enjoy these colors!

Beauty

"Beauty"
16x20 Oil on Archival Panel

This one is a real beauty!  I painted this while taking a workshop by Nancy Medina.  We learned to paint from fresh flowers, and it was such a joy!  I kind of felt like I might be in heaven...the fragrance of fresh cut flowers along with a brush in my hand.  Oh my!  Nancy is a fantastic teacher, and I learned so much.  I feel that this painting speaks from my personality.  It's focused in the middle and rough on the edges, kind of like me.  I love the contrast and the sheer beauty of this full hydrangea.  What about you?

"Deep Calls Unto Deep"

"Deep Calls Unto Deep"
6"x6"
Alcohol Ink on Yupo

Number 9  of the 30 in 30 Challenge.  This is an original alcohol ink on Yupo paper.  The colors are more deep and more vibrant than even this photo can show.  It's a beautiful piece, hand signed rather than typed, and without the copyright of coarse.  There are so many images in this piece.  I looked at it for several days, studying and letting the Lord speak to me in so many ways.  The sliver of white light coming from the deepest places reminds me, that as we go deeper with Him, Jesus Christ, we are bathed in more glory light.  Hope you enjoy this piece.  It was a blast to paint.

This is number 21 of my 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.  It used to be an abstract from long ago, reworked into this amaryllis.  I used India ink to define the edges, and give a little more contrast.  It was great fun to do, just because I think this flower is so beautiful.  It's amazing to watch one in the process of blooming.  It takes forever to begin, then once it does, it's in full bloom in a matter of a couple of days.  You go to bed and the next morning, there it is.  It reminds me of the Lord's mercies.  He makes all things new.  Each morning is new.
