Oh Taste and See
It's been a long cold week, full of after work surprises that have kept me from painting. However, it didn't keep my mind from creating and coming up with ideas. I have so many things that I want to start. Maybe tomorrow...
For now, this is one of two silver reflections that I did back in the summer. It's title is "Oh Taste and See". This is an 8x10 watercolor on paper. The original is for sale, framed and ready to go. Prints are available. The beauty of the silver and the sweetness of the strawberries, just drew me into His presence as I painted. I just couldn't help but know that the invitation is so clear: "Just come, and taste. You will see, that I, the Lord God am good".

Reflections of the Cross #1
Watercolor 11x14 on watercolor paper. Sold $750.00
I really had fun doing all of these reflections. I acquired this empty Louie bottle. I was intrigued with the cross that was so reflected. I couldn't help but think, "Lord, YOU really are the answer. You are the true beauty that reflects all good things".
This was my first attempt at doing reflections from a bottle like this. I've done a couple of silver pieces, but none like this. It was very tedious and not for the faint at heart. It took many hours of concentration, painting each small segment at a time. Hope you enjoy.

A night just right for painting
Hello, everyone! This is my first day of blogging. It's a very cold 10 degree night in West Texas with snow and ice on the ground. It's a great evening for a fire in the fireplace and paint brush in hand. Well, I'll get to that paint brush momentarily. I'm excited because I made the first sizable sale of an original watercolor over the weekend. I will try and get that posted soon.
What I'm working on at the moment is another watercolor still life using a beautiful Louie bottle and some trinkets of my own, plus a mixed media bubble effect collage using the manipulated pages from a National Geographic magazine, which is a commissioned piece. I'm also working on a 16x20 acrylic prophetic art piece that I started during worship at church a couple of weeks ago. All are coming along nicely.
