Played with my new set of Dr. Ph. Martin's Liquid Watercolor set #1 today. I'm experimenting using a different color pallet as well as using liquids. They certainly are bright and seem to not lose much color after drying. I was drawn to the colorful dress in the non-traditional patterns of this Ugandan woman and child. Her face tells her story. Very typical of the Ugandan women. The men smile all the time, but it is rate to see very many smiles coming from the women. The feeling of hardship and oppression is readily evident, and I believe portrayed in my painting. I'm doing a series of Uganda Women with their babies. 8x10 on 140# Arches paper.
