Full Bloom

"Full Bloom"
16"x20" Acrylic on Canvas
Contact me for Purchasing Information

This is number 6 of the 30 paintings in 30 days.  I worked on it several days, experimenting with high gloss gel and transparent acrylic applied with a palette knife.  It has quite a few layers on transparent on top of transparent, and finally a spattering of opaque acrylic ink.  It was fun, and kind of "Georgia O'Keefe style.  I'm working on several paintings daily in order to keep up with this challenge.  I guess if I would paint very small and very simple, I could do one per day.  But, no.  I have to work large.  I guess the whole idea is to paint daily, not necessarily finish one daily.  I refuse to let it beat me, though.  Hope you enjoy these colors!

What a Dandy

"What a Dandy"
12"x12"
Original Oil on Wooden Panel

It's been just a few days since I got to paint.  Grandchildren coming in, church activities, and a new puppy!  Life is busy sometimes, but sometimes I just absolutely have to take a time out to paint.  It really is therapy for me.  I looked in my garden and couldn't decide which to paint first.  I finally chose these beautiful geraniums after contemplating how to get that rich and beautiful color.  I determined that Thalo Red would do it, and it did.  I love the contrast between the cool and warm colors, and the depth of the reds.  I was entertained today by my new little studio assistant, CeeZee, which was so much fun.

His Love

"His Love"
22x28 Alcohol Ink on Yupo
SOLD

This one was such a joy to paint.  It started out with a few days of travel and no time to think.  That was followed by a house full of little grandsons with all the joy that comes with it.  As I entered the doors of the sanctuary this morning, I felt a certain amount of peace.  The peace that "knows" that something will happen as worship begins.  A friend came up and asked me if I had a direction for the painting, and I just had to say, "no, but something would come".  It did.  Jesus came.  There was a time during my worship that my hands shook so bad that I could barely get the eye dropper into the alcohol.  I determined to use that to my advantage.  As tall as the mountains are, as low as the valley's are, His love is mine.  This one sold immediately.
